Become a KSBDC client
If
you are starting a business, please complete the following:
1. Read the Statement of Understanding
Page. Please print and bring a signed copy to your first meeting with
your KSBDC consultant.
2. Complete the Start-Up Business
Assessment or download
the following PDF form. (If you download the PDF form, you will need
to fax it to your regional center or the KSBDC state office.)
3. Complete the Summary of Money Needs
Form. (Skip this step if you downloaded the PDF form above, as it
is included in that application packet.)
4. Your information will be forwarded to your regional center. If you
do not hear from them within 3 working days, please call you regional
center or the state office.
If you are already in business, please complete
the following:
1. Read the Statement of Understanding
Page. Please print and bring a signed copy to your first meeting with
your KSBDC consultant.
2. Complete the Existing Business Assessment
or download
the following PDF form. (If you download the PDF form, you will need
to fax it to your regional center or the KSBDC state office.)
3. Your information will be forwarded to your regional center. If you
do not hear from them within 48 hours, please call you regional center
or the state office.
If
you are purchasing an existing business, please:
1. Follow the steps of the start-up business above.
2. Please collect 3 years financials & tax returns of the business
you are purchasing to discuss with your KSBDC consultant.
3. Please collect the information on the asking price of the business
you are purchasing to discuss this with your KSBDC consultant.
4. Please get a listing of the assets included with the business purchase
and their fair market value.
5. Take a look at the the Checklist
for Buying a Business and the Buying a Business
Resources Page on this website in advance of meeting with a KSBDC
consultant.
