The Kansas Department of Commerce offers many programs for business owners. Of particular interest to small business owners are their startup assistance programs, microloan programs, export assistance programs, and programs tied to job creation. The Kansas Department of of Labor has an extensive website that covers multiple issues associated with being an employer including workers compensation, workplace laws, unemployment insurance, etc. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment website provides information for industries that have health and environmental impacts.
